“Today is the day.  If I don’t do it today, I never will,”  the boy thought to himself.  “If I don’t ask her out today, I might as well forget about it.  I have to do it today.”

The boy bravely approached the girl.  She saw him coming and presented him with a warming smile.  He mustered up the courage and asked her out on a date.

“She said yes,” he told his friends.   “I’m glad I finally got the courage to ask her.”

Life is about courage, taking risks, and “going for” want you want.  It’s always comfortable to play things safe, but the person who asks, gets the dates.  The person who asks for the raise, sometimes gets it.  The person who ventures out of his comfort zone, gets the excitement in life.

When you set a beacon, it often involves taking the risks to get there.  Things are not always easy in life.  They can be easy, when you reach a level of growth that allows for you to enter the flow of universal energy.  However, along the way, you need to make the tough decisions, and take a few risks.

When everything is “calculated” in your life you give up the opportunity for spontaneity and adventure.  Sometimes, you need to step into the “unknown” with the utmost confidence and proceed as though you know everything will work out for the best.  Sometimes, “the best” is not the way you would like things to go, but when you trust that you are on the exact path in this journey of life that you need to be on at this moment in time, you know that everything went the way you needed it to go.

The journey of life has many different paths that you can take.  Some take the familiar “paved path” that others have travelled as well.  Others take the less travelled dirt path that may be more treacherous.  Few others, create their own path.  Breaking new ground for others to sometime follow their path, but paving their own way.  Those are the real innovators of the world.

Think about your life thus far.  What types of paths have you taken?  There is nothing wrong with taking the path followed by many before you.  Now, think about where your beacons lie.  Do they have a well paved path, or do you need to create your own path?  Today is that day.  Begin to create the path or to take the less travelled paths already in place to add energy and satisfaction to your life.

The boy in the story, would have been disappointed had the girl turned him down.  However, he also would know to focus his energies elsewhere which may lead to the girl that he may someday marry.  Sometimes, the rejections in life, open the way to a different path leading you to where you ultimately need to go in your life.

Look at rejections as a sort of “clearing” of energy allowing you to focus your energies in a different direction.  That is guidance by the universe to help you choose the path or to create the path that ultimately will lead to your destiny.  Life is about exploration of the unfamiliar lands.  Let yourself enjoy that exploration in some of the areas of your life that are craving it.

However, we are not suggesting that “boredom” say in a relationship means you should explore other people.  If you have made a commitment to the relationship, you should make every attempt to honor that commitment.  You may want to look at other paths for the two of you to travel together.

Today is the day to act on the things that you have been wanting to do.  Step out of your comfort zone and “go for it.”  At least you will know whether or not to spend any more energy in that area.
