True Identities

Posted - Jun• 30•14

Be who you are, so that the world can meet the true you.  No one wants to meet and get to know the “shell” we place on ourselves in the “act” of life.  We want to get to know the core of who “they” are.  Let them get to know the core of who you are as well.

Sometimes, we are afraid to let our true self come out, for we think that we need to persuade others into liking us.  We may either consciously or subconsciously filter out the things that we let emanate through our essence.  We may think that if someone knows something about us, she may no longer like us.

The reality is, that the more we let people get to know who we are at the core, the easier it is to make a determination if there is a relationship to develop.  When we disguise who we are, the relationship may last what seems a bit longer, but it stands little chance of lasting for a long time.  Let go of the need to disguise our true selves, and open up to the world – without the mask encouraged by society.

We are not suggesting that you do not follow the generally accepted social customs and behaviors.  We ask that you continue to be polite and kind while uncovering the inner self of who you are.  Let the world get to know the true you.  Let the world get to see the “essence” of who you really are.

The interesting thing is that many if not all of us, really know who we are in the first place.  We may have been so busy “covering up” things and traits in our lives that we begin to lose our “true identity.”  When you begin to open up and let your identity be known you will become reintroduced to your core self and can live freely.

When we live “freely” we are not filtering out who knows what about us.  We are being genuinely truthful to ourselves and to those for which we care to develop a relationship.  Relationships are not built overnight, and take much time.  Like building a great pyramid, they are built one stone at a time.  However, the “corner-stone” must be laid based on truth.  If the cornerstone that will carry the weight of the relationship is not genuine, the relationship may one day topple to the ground.

Open up to the world, and let the world see you for who you really are.  We have enough actors and actresses around us, for we need to know that the people close to us are genuinely themselves.
