Worry Overwhelms Now

Posted - Jun• 11•14

“I don’t know, I’m afraid of what will happen.”

“It’s okay, none of us knows the future.  We just know that we will persevere no matter what happens.  Since none of us knows, we might as well enjoy what we have at this moment in our lives.”

“Yes, you are right.  I should not waste this moment with thoughts about things that may never happen.”

With that, the husband grabbed his wife’s hand, and they walked into the hospital to have the surgery to remove the cancer.

Life is full of the unknown.  We can never know what the future holds.  People who claim they “know” do not “know.”  People yell from the roof tops that the “sky is falling” for one reason or another, but those people do not really “know.”  You know what you need to know deep within yourself.  It is best to close your ears to the megaphones of people instilling fear and worry into the world, and let your inner music play.

It’s easy to talk about the “current administration” relative to everything from the government, to your employer, or your school board.  We can all talk about how bad things are, and how they are going to get worse because of decisions made that do not align with the people instilling the fears.

Close your ears and shut your eyes to this kind of “communication.”  Understand that no one knows what the future holds, but you also understand that everything is in “perfect order.”  An order that is the path that will take you to the destinations, and detours that you need in this lifetime.

Understand that where you are going is right where you need to be.   Sure, we want you to plant beacons, and plot your next step.  However, after you figure out where you would like to be, you need to “let go.”

Look back over the years, and try to figure out or research what people were “worried about” back then.  Now, look to see if that “worry” was worthy of their current moments.  What did they lose with that worry?   Were they afraid to go to college, and wished that they would have taken that “risk?”

Were they afraid to quit their job and start their own business?  Were they afraid to have a family, sell their home, and move away?  Talk to someone older than you, or talk to a friend or relative even younger than you.  Ask them what they were worried about 5, 10, or 20 years ago.  Ask them if looking back they are happy with their decision to worry about those things. Ask yourself those questions as well.

There are many times in our lives when we think that we are approaching a “big moment.”  A moment where we are in a fork in the road.  It could be a decision on whether or not to go to college.  Which job to take.  Where to live.  Who to marry.  Yes, these are big decisions.

However, if you base these decisions on worry about things you would like to avoid, you will actually give energy to that worry and attract those very things into your life.   Rather, we would recommend that you make all decisions based on where you want to be, no matter what people are blasting from the roof-tops.

Let yourself have the confidence that is within you, shine.  Let yourself make the decisions based on love, joy and happiness.  In the end, that is the guiding light towards your beacons.

Life is not intended to be constrained with worry.  Just let it go, and replace it with love, intention, and happiness.  You will find that the fear and worry just disappears!
