Your Happiness Center

“Where does happiness come from?”

“Happiness comes from within.  Sure external events and people can make happiness easier or more difficult, but ultimately, happiness is inside of you.  You just need to let yourself be happy.”

“If that is the case, then why are so many people unhappy when happiness is fully in their control?”

“That is the mystery.”

Happiness can be influenced by events and people external to your inner self.  However, the ultimate decision on whether or not you will enjoy a state of happiness is up to you, and only you!

Have you ever gone on a vacation to a place that you have been anticipating for months or even years, to find yourself in a state of bitterness, anger, or frustration?   A state other than happiness?    That is an indication of how external events cannot “make” you happy.   The only person who can allow yourself to be happy is you!

Some people refuse to gift themselves with happiness.  Whether or not they think they are deserving of happiness comes into play.  Some people also feel that happiness is external, and blame other people and events for their state of misery.   They do not and will not take responsibility for their own happiness – or lack thereof.

This is your life.  It’s time to take responsibility for it.  You cannot take responsibility for anyone’s life other than your own.  If other people in your family or close friends refuse to enjoy the happiness they hold inside of them, it is not a reason for you to join them.  As a matter of fact, one way to encourage happiness is to be happy yourself.  Show how you can be happy no matter what the external events are in your life!

When we engaged upon the journey of this lifetime, we came here wanting to enjoy the physical experience, as well as to have spiritual growth.  One way to do that is to tap into that “happiness center” of your spirit and let it flow unconditionally.
