Your Life Really is Good

Posted - Jan• 22•16

“Life is good.”

“We sometimes just don’t know it!”

Open your eyes and ears.  Look around you with a new mindset.  See the goodness in your life.  Life really is good, you just need to recognize the goodness.

So many times, we focus on what is lacking in our lives.  Our health, our relationships, our finances, etc.  However, we need to flip that around, and look at the abundance in our lives.

What abundance do you have in your life?   Let’s start with some basics.  Do you have a warm place to sleep at night?  Do you have food in your belly?  Do you have people who love you, and whom you love?  Are you generally in good health for your age?  Ask yourself some questions at a general level, to see what you take for granted that many others do not possess.

Life is not about tweaking our possessions and our “abundances” to a point where we are always striving for something better.  We want the newest phone, or car.  We want a bigger and better house.  Sure, it’s okay to desire things like this, but keep in mind that implies you already have a phone, a car, and a home.  Many people are looking for a warm place to sleep at night.  That might be something that you are taking for granted.

The point is, that many times we think that we are “lacking” in our lives, but in fact we have lots and lots of abundance.  Start looking for the abundance and the goodness in your life, and you will see that the “small stuff” is no longer there.  You will see that you will have a better understanding of what truly is important in your life, rather than look for the things that are missing.  This can include relationships as well as possessions.

Life really is “good” no matter what your ego might be telling you.  Sometimes it helps to convince yourself of that goodness by doing a “gratitude inventory.”  Today, is a great day to take mental snapshots of the abundances in your life so that you can convince yourself that your life really is good.

When we believe that we have a “good life” we will tend to see that goodness while being blind to the “lack” that is often pointed out by the ego.  Live the “good life” and let a life of lack be a part of your past!
