Live This Day

Posted - Feb• 23•15

When the stress of the future begins to place its toll on your shoulders, you can take a deep breath and make the commitment to “this day.”

When we commit to “today” we are saying that we will do the things necessary to help us prepare for the future, while at the same time, bringing happiness and joy into the present day.  So many times, we get caught up in the stresses and the possibilities of the future, that we let it consume the current day.

Today, is what lies before you.  Yesterday is over, and tomorrow is not yet here.  Why worry about those other days, when this is the one that you have right now?  Yes, we believe that you should plant your beacons, and plan your next steps.  Today, you should work on those next steps, but then you must let go of the outcome.

When you live in this manner you will find that the artificial stresses of the unknown future simply disappear.   You do your best to work towards a future that you desire, but you do not let the current moments slip through your fingers in the process.  When we live today and live this moment, everything is possible.   Why?  Because we open ourselves up to the unlimited potential of ourselves and the universe when we live in the moment.

Think about a time when you were worried about something in the future.  Now, think about whether or not the thing you were worried about came true?  Did it help your days and weeks of worry to affect the outcome?  Plan your next step, work your next step, and let go of the outcome.  You can have joy while filling sand bags for the projected flood.  There is no need to ruin each of your days worrying about something that may never happen in the first place.

One of the secrets to life, is to learn how to live the moment, even when you feel the future is uncertain.  Let go of the need to control everything in your life, and you will feel the pressure of that unknown future lifted from your shoulders!
